June 2026

- In Apr ’26 we published a report titled “Four Super Trends Every Indian Investor Must Know”. We follow this up with a deep dive into the #1 sector trend we identified – Electrification.
- The big petrol (fossil fuel) vs electric discussion has been going on for a few years now. Fossil fuels is the old way, but it’s got limited supply, has turned expensive and is polluting.
- The fact is that innovation has at last moved to electric. The electric cycle is falling into place. Solar and renewables generate power, at low cost. Coal is actually getting pushed out, as the coal based thermal power costs more than solar. Solar power gen capacity is growing very fast too.
- Innovation is reducing pollution from batteries and EV car making. The costs of this battery and solar panel have plunged. China has taken a lead in electric technologies, but nothing is stopping other countries from catching up and encouraging domestic manufacturing.
- Demand for power is accelerating. The traditional 3-4% annual power demand growth has now moved to 6-8%. With affluence, industrialization and rural electrification, demand is growing. Tech effects of crypto, AI, datacenters and EVs, will make us more power hungry.
- In this report we discuss and detail out the Electrification sector, its industry characteristics, and identify an investible basket of shares.
